Photo Gallery
Completed in 1939, the Barber Cabin has changed relatively little in the past 70 years. The gallery includes photos of thhe cabin and the sites close by.

Just a few steps from the back door is a great place to take a bath!

A half mile walk upstream is this picturesque bridge, Expect to see a wedding when you pass by.

West Barber chose to build the cabin using shake shingles for the exterior including the roof (now tin) and blue slate for the chimneys.

Just a mile upstream Greenbriar is a pristine part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Built with a view of the mountains, in the 30s the cabin sat next to a watermelon patch.

From the ridge above the cabin one can see how undeveloped this valley was, just a short time ago. This ridge served as a steep cornfield for many years.
